FAQ'S

(Q) Is youth rugby a contact sport?
(A) Youth rugby is a seven-a-side game in which there are no tackles. The tackle is replaced by a tag, in which the ball-carrier is touched by an opponent, with two hands between waist and knee.

(Q) When are practices?
(A) Every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30pm-8pm starting the last week of May. Practices are at Hodges park in Sykesville

(Q) What equipment will I need to purchase for my child?
(A) No special equipment is required. Cleats, shorts, and a water bottle are recommended. Our uniform included with your registration fee.

(Q) How long does the season run?
(A) Practices start the last week of May and games go through the end of July

(Q) What are the age divisions?
(A) There are four age groups as follows: U9, U11, U13, U16

(Q) How competitive are the teams?
(A) The primary focus is to introduce Rugby 7's to a new audience. There are no tryout and everyone plays as long as they enjoy the sport and are willing to learn.

(Q) What if I have vacations planned during the rugby season?
(A) No problem! We understand that everyone goes on vacation in the summer and it is ok to miss practices and games during the season. Just let your coach know in advance. Your child will not sit out for going on vacation. Everyone plays!

(Q) Where are the games played?
(A) Home games are played at Freedom Park in Sykesville. Away games are local to the area normally within 30-45 minutes
